''King of Swing'' Buddy Schwimmer Returns to Seattle for the 27th annual NW Dance Extravaganza---Workshops on Saturday April 16th, Extravaganza on Sunday April 17th
.
Indeed! The "King of Swing" himself, returns to Seattle as part of the NW Dance Extravaganza. So, if Buddy is the King of Swing, that would certainly make his famous son, Benji Schwimmer the "Prince of Swing". And, if that's the case, daughter Lacy Schwimmer, Professional on "Dancing with the Stars" would certainly be the "Princess of Swing" Sounds logical from here. One thing is quite certain;
THIS IS ONE TALENTED FAMILY !!!

We are very honored that Buddy has accepted our invitation to be part of this fun week end in April. He has graciously agreed to teach workshops on Saturday (April 16th) and just have fun with everyone at the Extravaganza the next day. Our venue for the event remains the same. The beautiful Nile Golf and Country Club.

So, make plans to spend the week end with us, and help celebrate the 27th Anniversary of the Northwest's longest running event of it's kind. THE NW DANCE EXTRAVAGANZA !!!
Buddy's April 16th Workshops
Buddy's workshops will be in West Coast Swing (of course!) and Nightclub Two Step, and will be held at Shoreline's Dance Experience. This is the same studio where the Extravaganza's DJ, the incomparable Mr. Terry West, holds his Funky Friday dances.

Given that dancers here in Seattle seldom have the chance to work with Buddy, we wanted folks to be able to afford to come to all four of his classes. If you purchase your registration before April 1st, you will be able to spend the entire afternoon with Buddy for just $50.

Yes, you read correctly. Just $50 to spend an entire afternoon with the Master. That's less than the cost of one private lesson! If you enjoy West Coast Swing, and are crazy about NC2, than, this is for you.

Registration in Buddy's April 16th workshops is officially OPEN !!!

Exciting Double Feature Show at this year's Extravaganza. Yegor Novikov & Ekaterina Zakharoff (Latin) and Simeon & Kora Stoynov (Standard)
.
$70 Early Bird (ringside) dinner tickets are now available. Questions? Call the studio (206)542-5550 or e-mail Lynn at lynnoffutt@hotmail.com

For those of you who didn't catch the results of the US Open
One can't help but notice the repetition of both Benji and Torri's names. And, for those who may not know, Torri's last name may as well be Schwimmer. Torri spent her childhood dancing with Benji, Heidi, and Lacy. All under the watchful eye of Buddy and Laurie. Congratulations to Benji, Torri and Brennar on these phenomenal results!

Nile Country Club

News from Last Years Event :

Our New Venue, the Beautiful Nile Country Club got Rave Reviews
It is said that change is good. That, however, doesn't make it any less scary.
To move an event that had enjoyed over a decade at it's previous location was indeed a big step. In the end, it turned out to be a good decision.

Guests came up to us all day long to express their approval of the new venue. Even our feature couple, Decho and Bree, who had featured the event at it's old location three years earlier, highly approved. In Decho's own words, "This venue is perfect for a Ballroom event. It's very nice."

Sure, there were a few glitches, but, nothing that can't be fixed next time. Overall, the move was well received.

The 26th NW Dance Extravaganza had it All
If for some crazy reason you couldn't make it to the the event, you missed out on a wonderful day of dance!

This year's Extravaganza had it all. Several team demos, free Jack & Jill contests, a free West Coast Swing workshop, Argentine Tango demo, Standard Ballroom demo, Latin demos, Theater Arts demos, W.C. Swing demo, Chicago Style Steppin demo, and plenty of social dancing. What a shame if you had to miss all this! It truly was a lot of bang for your buck!
Your Dinner Show Performances
We would like to thank 12 very special dancers who put on what was probably the BEST Dinner Show ever! Keep in mind that this special showcase of dancing was exclusive to those who had dinner tickets.
Our many thanks to:

DECHO KRAEV & BREE WATSON. Decho & Bree gave our dinner guests their first glimpse of the exquisite dancing of this Nationally ranked couple. Their Theater Arts Bolero was to die for!

MICHELLE BADION & WLADIMIR PINO. Michelle and Vlad's Argentine Tango demo was quite unique and more than filled the bill for this intriguing dance style.

JONATHAN & CAROLYN HUGGETT. British Columbia's Sr. Standard Champs had the biggest challenge. Standard dancers in general prefer a really big floor, but Jonathan and Carolyn handled the task with grace and elegance.

NORBERT TESTON & JESSICA LINDSEY. This Latin couple from Portland just get better and better every time we see them. They have now developed a very good repoire with their audience.

NATHAN FONTES & DELAYNA ROWE. What a beautiful Theater Arts Waltz solo this local couple performed. And, yes, it's true. They have just become engaged to be married. Congratulations guys!

ROBB BRYAN & BRIANNE GREEN. Our featured instructors for the afternoon complimentary workshop came back in the evening with a little lead and follow impromptu number which was quite enjoyable.

That was our Dinner Show line up at the event, and we would like to thank you all for a delightful showcase of dancing!
THE TEAM DEMOS WERE GREAT!
This year's Extravaganza audience enjoyed the talents of three wonderful dance teams. Our thanks go out to:

The Pacific Ballroom Dance Team
Bellingham Stars Youth Dance Team
Studio 6 Casino Rueda Team
ADDED THANKS
A special thank you to STEVE LABOO & ADA WILLIAMS for their Chicago Style Steppin demo. This dance seems to be catching on in the area, and, was a first time demo for us.

Also to CHAD BROOKS & JESSICA LINDSEY for their phenomenal Theater Arts demo. It was awesome!

And, last but not least, a huge thank you to Decho and Bree for accepting this return engagement to our fair city. You are the BEST!
